Web Services are inevitable components in current computing scenarios. For any kind of E-Business, negotiation over the Internet, Web Services are utilized. We need a discussion on the advantages and disadvantages (if any) of Web Services implementation in Cloud Computing environment as opposed to a regular Distributed Computing environment.
The biggest challenge in relation to "web service implementation on cloud computing" is security, and protection of data. Being in its infancy stage cloud computing has vulnerabilities which people use to access information.
I'm wondering whether "Web Service" terms are used in a broad sense. Strickly speaking RESTful services are not "Web Services".
If we're talking about SOAP protocol, then the security concern stated by Pim (IMHO) is quite arguable.
