I want to simulate a network with approximately 50 gNBs and 500 UEs with different deployment options such as random, uniform, and hexagonal for the gNBs, and uniform, random deployment for the UEs and study the impact of interference, mobility, etc. Are there any options available in NetSim to quickly deploy such networks and study their performance? Which version are you using? The latest version, v14 of NetSim has the Rapid configurator which can be used to generate large scale network scenarios using basic excel operations. The method suggested in their documentation is to model the Wi-Fi interference as 'interference over thermal'. This method considers the interference from Wi-Fi as additional noise above the baseline thermal noise. The added noise reduces the SNR, and this can be used to approximate the impact of WiFi interference on metrics such as throughput, coverage and error. While this approach may not capture all the complexities of Wi-Fi interference, it provides an approximate way to model the performance degradation caused by interference.
For mobility, random mobility models as well as user defined mobility patterns via a CSV input file can be used. For varying one or more parameters across a range and analyzing the impact on the network performance, the multi parameter sweeper utility can be used. My scenario involves a standard configuration of 7 gNBs, a core network, and UEs downloading data from a remote server. Each gNB has 'Y' UEs randomly located around it. I want to run N simulations for this model configuration, with a different random placement of UEs for each simulation run. How can I configure NetSim to accomplish this?
