When conducting simulations within the NetSim 5G environment, I aim to quantify handover occurrences accurately as user equipment moves between base stations. I am looking for guidance on the specific steps or metrics to identify and count handover events.
The 5G Handover log can be used to exactly identify the number of handovers, on a per UE basis, that occured in the network. The hanover log records the time stamp associated with handover, UE ID, Serving and Target Cell IDs along with their respective SSB SNRs.
How can one accurately determine the load on each BS? Specifically, is there a method to track the number of UEs connected to each BS and graphically represent the variation in load over time, especially during handover events?
Enable the "Radio measurements" log before running the simulation. After the simulation, this log will show with timestamps, the BS each UE is connected to, which can change over time as UEs move.
You could define the load on a BS as the number of UEs connected to it. This can be determined by counting the UEs attached to each BS, from the radio-measurements log - only requires some filtering in Excel. For visualization, plot this data using Excel or Python
