I am conducting a systematic review on vaginal microbicides from a gender perspective and I currently looking for a quality/ risk of bias assessment tool for qualitative research and more specifically acceptability studies.
This may not be the most helpful response but i am not sure it is a risk of bias assessment tool that you really want to use - in the sense that 'bias' (in the sense that it applied to quantitative studies) is really not the same issue with qualitative studies.
That said, some form of quality appraisal seems essential and is certainly recommended / required in reporting guidelines for synthesis (e.g. Article Enhancing transparency in reporting the synthesis of qualita...
) The approrpaite criteria to judge are I think a rather more 'live' area of debate and dispute in qualitative research.
The seminal article by Mays and Pope https://www.bmj.com/content/320/7226/50.1 provides a good overview and basic framework that is (in my view) still current and as good as any out there.
