What are some effective strategies for writing a compelling abstract?

Try to tell everything to your readers about your paper from the beginning to the end without explaining the research steps. Answer the what, why, which and how questions of your readers. Read the abstracts of a few published papers to understand the suggestions.

I agree with Muhammad Amjad that those things are very important to include if space permits. Most journals say the limit is 150 or 200 words or something so I can only use that section to gain the interest of the reader and say the most important point(s) on why the information from my paper is interesting, helpful and better than other papers on this subject.
