Contemporary Quality Management Models of 80s and early 90s can be

1. Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) started and awarded for the first time in 1988 and constantly revised to aid business performance

2. EFQM (the European Foundation for Quality Management) is established in 1989 to increase the competitiveness of the European economy. EFQM Excellence Model is also for business performance improvement

3. ISO 9000 for Quality Management System also started in 1987 and revised in 1994, 2000, 2008, 2015.

4. The McKinsey 7S Model (Strategy, Structure, System, Skills, Style, Staff, and Shared value) is developed in 1980s.

5. For software development, Capability and Maturity Model (CMM) is developed in 1991 and further revised to suit changes in IT system development and services.
