Although I am quite knowledgeable and active in the research domain of context-oriented programming, given the rapid pace at which this domain is evolving, I'm planning to chart out this research domain again. Therefore, I would like to know what are, according to you, the key research papers in this domain that I should not miss in my survey in order to be exhaustive.
The first two names, that come to my mind are Robert Hirschfeld and Pascal Costanza, but they are definitely already on your list.
We explored different technologies to adapt mobile applications to context as summarized in "Programming for Context-based Adaptability: Lessons learned about OOP, SOA, and AOP", but our focus had then substantially deviated from what Pascal had in mind, when writing about COP. It might still be remotely related.

Yes, Pascal Costanza, Robert Hirschfeld and his team, Oscar Nierstrasz and his team, and the people in Japan working on COP are definitely on my list. And there's also Carlo Ghezzi and his team in Milano as well as Siobhan Clarke and some of her researchers at Trinity college. I'll check the exact references you gave in more detail. I'll also check the publications of all the COP workshops that have been held over the last few years. Thanks for the refs already. I think I'll start by making an annotated bibliography to chart out what exists and by whom, before making (another) survey on all this. If anyone has other people or teams working on this or specific papers on the topic which they particularly liked, please don't hesitate to post them here + why you think they are a must read. (Of course your own research goes as well :-)

It would be great and worthy to form a network on the topic as is quite suitable for many modern applications. In our group we are combining dynamic variability with context features for collaborative aspects and self-adaptive systems.I know more people that even their topics do nor strictly related to COP they work on closely related áreas.
