What are good research topics in hospital process mining?

I had my master thesis in Process mining and did using web log dataset. There are several good hospital process mining research topics. For instance:

Patient administration process (Patient goes to GP, GP refers to hospital, patient goes to hospital, assessment, results, followup and termination). If you can get relevant dataset, it would be very useful to optimize this process for hospitals.

Also, when it comes to `comorbodities`, a lot of patients suffers from more than one illness at a time and visits several departments. It can be great to find out the process model there.

If you want more detailed and concrete view, you can take just one department process for say, radiology. Patient comes in, regiter their arrival at desk, called inside, takes x-ray, given instruction, termination. etc.

We are currently trying to use process mining in mental health treatment processes. Generally, when people suffer from psycological illness, they have pre-assessment, then assessment, diagnosis, treatement therapy, followup, post-assessment.

Basically, you can try to use process mining in every step where you think there is a process invovled. In order to use process mining the main thing will the ability to collect meaningful chronological dataset. So, I would say, as long as you have temporal dataset, or have an ability to collect dataset, then you can use process mining without any problem.

Moreover, if you can collect even minor details of the process, you can think about optimizing the process mining process, or probably use some data mining techniques to explore even minor granuarlity. Hope, this gives you some direction.
