I want to investigate the pollution from chemical pesticide use on the environment, which is one of the factors I consider to be groundwater pollution, please share if you have any information
Insecticides: They are mostly used in agricultural fields, garden houses and homes to destroy agricultural insects but may be used for other purposes such as control of insects carrying human and veterinary diseases and control of external parasites on cattle, sheep and other animals, including a number of chemical groups including:
A. Organic chlorocarbons: A group of effective and highly toxic compounds as pesticides, but their use is determined in most countries of the world as a result of environmental and health problems due to the length of their stay in the environment. Examples are DDT, dendrin, dieldrin, endrin and caldorn.
B. Organophosphorus compounds: pesticides that range from high toxic compounds to selective compounds with high insect toxicity only, biodegradable in the environment such as malathion, diazinon and many others.
Identifying and buffering all water supplies, ponds, wetlands, including perennial and intermittent streams will be helpful, even critical to successful control. Ground spraying buffer at least 10 m, aerial spraying 30-40 m buffer. The pesticide may have other directions and restrictions. Not all pesticides are the same, some extremely mobile, some not; some with long half life, others break down quickly. Ephemeral channels should also be buffered for especially mobile, long lived or toxic pesticides. Monitoring aquatic organisms is a good tool to estimate whether procedures and preventions were effective.
Considering ground water pollution is a best idea, because 50% population using as souce of drinking water. Mainly type of pesticeds, their site of application and moreover the concentration used were considerable. To determine the contamination of water supplies, the source of water is also an important factor.
