In your own opinion, what are the developmental issues in big data management and how can they be favourable for career progression at senior management level?
I think that big data and the necessity for real-time analytics are of strategic importance. This involves in certain companies new kinds of relationships between CIOs and CMOs for example. CIOs who are able to cope with these changes will maintain or gain their place in the company's board. Those not able will may be relegated at a position closer to user support and infrastructures management. I think this will also entail a new governance wich will shift from IS/IT governance to information governance (more distributed, at senior management level).
