Here's a thought .... what about presentations of the future? For now, PowerPoint provides a fine way of giving presentations ... but what about the future? perhaps future presentation environments may involve a simulation system incorporating some form of an interactive, multimedia 3D environment?
Viewers and participants would no longer need to be in the same room ... although Skype (and other similar tools) provide a means interaction, think of generating a perceived 3D world surrounding the viewer ...

when thinking of VR there are two aspects most people have in mind: VR for entertainment and VR for porn (mankind is a dirty bunch). There is, however, an aspect that has rather been neglected or not been pointed out to that extend. I am talking about VR for medical use or for psychological purpose.
I am thinking of using VR to confront people with situations they find difficult to cope with, fear of hights especially, but also free speaking in front of a live audience. With VR you could dive into an uncomfortable situation without the danger. You won't fall off a tree for instance. There are also people who are afraid of social interaction. Many of them already use the internet for communication to avoid actually meeting people. With VR they could meet people without "meeting" them. It could lessen the pressure and eventually help them overcome their obstacles. Then there are people with visual deficiencies, who fail to see real debth (3D) and find it difficult to coordinate their eye-sight. Here VR might come in handy to train their eyes by adjusting the system to individual eyesight and not the other way around.
Just some thoughts that come to mind. I hope they help you to come up with more ideas.
