Call for Participation in Workshop/Conference
Indian Ocean Innovation Network (IOIN)
Date:7-9th April 2014
Location: Reunion Island
IAE Reunion University and the Centre for Innovative Practice at Edith Cowan University, Western Australia are developing an Indian Ocean Innovation Network. The aim is to develop a network of academics, governments and industry participants focused on innovation in the Indian Ocean region.
The Indian Ocean region includes many countries and islands. We share a common geography yet few entities have tried to harness the synergies inherent in our geographical context. Innovation is priority for many nations, it engenders hope that tomorrow will be better than today and has potential to transform lives, organizations and nations. Joint research projects will be the vehicle to make a difference in the region.
We invite academics, government representatives and industry leaders to participate in the network through the inaugural workshop in April. The focus of the workshop will be round table discussions on how to develop the network, create new projects and access funding. The workshop is open to anyone with an interest in the network so participation is not restricted to countries bordering the Indian Ocean.
Please contact Jean-Pierre Tang-Taye and Craig Standing if you are interested in participating in the workshop:
The format of the workshop will be released closer to the actual dates but will involved short paper presentations (of several pages) on the background of the participant and their organization, their suggestions for progress with IOIN, their specialist areas of interest etc.
Reunion Island is a tropical island in the Indian Ocean. It’s amazing scenery, varied culture and cuisine make it a highly significant tourist destination.
