Hello fellow researcher,
I am looking for camera equipment that allows me to record videos for several consecutive days in relatively dark environments. Does anyone know of equipment that has
a) a pretty long battery life or
b) can turn itself on/off at specific times or
c) only turns itself on when movement is recognised (a bit like trap camera but druing daytime)?

Why do not use some traditional camera with a Wi-Fi connection? and connect it to a video recorder or to a suitable PC (upon application), with some dedicated programs (e.g. activate recording upon motion detection), by which, long periods of time for video surveillance can be recorded at relatively low cost.
I agree with Aparna-Murthy CCTVs is the best option.
Also, those cameras have a movement/sound detector so they automatically turn on/off when movement and/or sound occurs!
