Hello everyone

I want to ask a question about the AED electrode placement. In general, I am aware that the indicated placement of the electrodes is under the right clavicle and the left arpit is the optimal way to deliver a shock to the heart and that each electrode is specifically labeled with the location it needs to be placed at.

The question I want to ask is what would happen if we switched the electrodes, i.e we put the one that goes under the right clavicle in the position under the left armpit and vice versa. I cannot find an explanation of this question in any website or any scientific papers that would explain the effect of such a switch.

Could you please provide any information concerning this topic or have any resources and/or websites you could refer me to?

Thank you in advance for your time.
