Hello all,

I believe I am missing a mechanism here with my Varian AAS flame assayer which is refusing to aspirate samples.

Things I did:

1. swapped out my plastic capillary tube.

2. Pulled apart the nebulizer and confirmed that I could push a thin wire all the way through

to the glass bead

3. Made sure to adjust the flow rate valve (the adjuster next to the capillary input) to make sure it wasn't closing off flow into the burner

Other:

1. Flame works fine

2. The water trap had been neglected to be cleaned for several months through the pandemic.

3. No parts were replaced inside the nebulizer

Given there are no obvious blockages into and through the nebulizer and adjustment of the flowrate valve to make sure the glass bead isn't inhibiting the flow has me at an impasse on what the problem may be. Any guidance is heavily appreciated.

Thank you!
