Dear Sir , i am working on Gear Bearing Analysis , i would like to know apart from vibration parameter if we only consider the temperature what would be significance in the analysis .Warm regards | Nabi
It depends on what are you looking for: if your goal is the efficiency or the lubrication as well as the failure model, the answare is yes, the temperature is a fundamental parameter.
If bearing parts, housing and/or shaft are at different temperatures (i.e. it exists a temperature gradinet in the system), the bearing operating clearence can vary.
As Franco said, temperature also greatly influences lubricant properties that are very important to evaluate bearing efficency and contact fatigue strength.
Thanks for sharing , In my case i am only given temperature Data , because vibration sensor is not implemented on machine. let me elaborate further . the information which i have is Bearing Temperature data on hourly bases and date of failed bearing. That's it this is the only information which i have. what should be my approach for predicting failure.
