I am a PhD student and in my dissertation I have to conduct a survey for my quantitative research. My professor wants me to use validated survey instrument. I wanted to use Question Pro survey software. Will that survey software tool good enough and fulfill the requirement of validated survey instrument? How do I figure it
out?.

Your Professor simply would like to help you in making your research simple, easy and within your reach since he/she is suggesting you to utilize a validated survey instrument already. If you can find a validated survey instrument which is applicable to your study then you can use it or either you can modify it in congruence with the objective of your study. You may also construct a self-made survey instrument and have it validated by experts, by that your study can contribute to the instrumentation principle of research which can be cited and may use by other researchers who will replicate your study in the future. I think what your supervisor is saying is that you need to use an instrument that was validated in previous studies. What you need to do is find other studies that used the questions you want to ask in your study. You can modify the questions for your context but the instrument will be compiled from other surveys used in other studies and then you reference those instruments in your study.
Yes. I agree with Henri Knoesen. However, you should pilot test the questionnaire with your own data and establish reliability and validity of the instrument. If necessary as Henri said, you can add or delete some questions to make the instrument suitable to your context. Good luck.
Meraj Ansari - A validated questionnaire/scale is developed to be administered among the intended respondents. The validation processes is completed using a representative sample, demonstrating adequate reliability and validity. In validated measures, questionnaires are tested to ensure production of reliable, accurate results. This is done by establishing face validity, running a pilot test, collected data, use Principal Components Analysis (PCA), check internal consistency and revise the survey.
Meraj Ansari, you have been provided with some useful advice above. There is one small thing I would recommend that is different, namely that you not use principal components analysis (PCA), but rather factor analysis (they are two different things). Also, please can you help me with this ....In my research I am investigating the effectiveness of the cybersecurity Awareness training program which has Virtual Risk Officer (deep neural network is used). So, for that I am using two groups (Experimental and control groups)- 1st group is provided with the security training with VRO and the 2nd group will not be provided with training. My question is that the survey instrument (survey questions) must be same for both the groups right? Please suggest any sample survey templates that can be answered by both the group participants and then I can get the responses.
I am very confused what type of questions needed to be in the survey instrument that can be answered by both the groups and then J can perform data analysis.
