Vacuum Arc Melter Sample keeps on breaking. How to solve this issue?

I am trying to manufacture Ferrous based shape memory alloy with composition of Fe-30Mn-6Si but it keeps on breaking when I try to fuse the pieces and when I cast a strip, the casted strip is also in pieces.

Can it be due to impurities in the material or due to high percentage of Menganese and magnetic effect of Mn is causing the sample to break?
