i am using nano powder blended with pure diesel .the absorbance value has been taken each day for almost 1 week , in terms of dispersion for stability test , few papers indicates to absorbance ratio term in order to obtain the stability as a function of time.
any example how to do it.

UV-Visible spectroscopy can be used as a simple and reliable method for monitoring the stability of nanoparticle solutions. As the particles destabilize, the original extinction peak will decrease in intensity (due to the depletion of stable nanoparticles), and often the peak will broaden or a secondary peak will form at longer wavelengths (due to the formation of aggregates).

I assume, "your" experimental set up uses Rayleigh scattering to investigate the properties of the dispersion. Rayleigh scattering is observed, if the wavelength of light exceeds the diameter of the particle. In the case of nanoparticles (d < 100 nm), the wavelength of scattered light is > 200 nm. You measure the intensity ratio of transmitted light and incident light as a function of wavelength. The short wavelengths are stronger scattered than long wavelengths (cf. blue sky). You can carry out the following experiments:
- If the concentration of the dispersed particels is reduced, the intensity of the transmitted radiation increases, but not the intensity ratio at 2 wavelengths (blue to red ).
- If the particle diameter changes (agglomeration of prticels), then the intensity ratio for two different wavelengths changes. The scattering angle decreases, if the partical diameter increases and the transmission increases, but it changes as a function of wavelength.

I suggest if you could try the sedimentation process for one month and you can see whether the particles have minimal settling amount or maximum. I've read many articles about dispersion stability analyses and came out with this as a better method to find out the dispersion amount of particles.

if they were solutions they would not scatter light and would not change over time, i.e. would be really stable

I highly recommend you first confirm that by dispersing your (nano?)powder into diesel you actually get a nanoparticle dispersion.
