Hi everyone.. Can anyone help in designing orthogonal array for 6 factors & 3 levels. As standard selection of matrix is showing L-18 array as the matrix. But While designing it in MINITAB it is showing L-27 array as default.
Please suggest which is the correct matrix???

I recommend you use the L-27 array. L-18 array (2^7) indicates that the factor can be studied at 2 levels and up to 7 factors. Please note that L-18 indicates that 1 factor may be studied at 2 levels. However, L- 27 (3^13) indicates that the factor can be studied at 3 levels and up to 13 factors.
To study the factor interactions a L27 array is important. Its better to chose L27 than L18 for better accuracy and estimation.

Karthik, please see the attached picture. You can see all factors have three levels when using L-27, while one factor has two levels and other factors have three levels when using L-18.
Yeah i got it Mr.Omar Ahmed, for involving all the 3 levels we will use L-27 as orthogonal matriz.

L18 shown in the attached figure is basically a mixed level orthogonal array wherein you study 1 factor at 2 levels and 7 factors at 3 levels.
L27 is a standard orthogonal array wherein you can study 13 3-level factors.
