My bachelor thesis main objective is to find out how much energy lost(LHV) to convert Methane to Hydrogen using the three reforming processes which are SMR, ATR, and POx ? and how much it cost to remove one atom of CO2 (or one kg CO2 ) and how much it cost to produce One KG of hydrogen from methane using this three processes. please need an answer as fast as possible .
It depends on what you mean by “lost” and the configuration (heat recover to process/steam have lots of H2 plant simulations and I have made a few presentations on refinery H2 management including H2 plants that I could share with you. Very efficient H2 plants are typically 80% efficient poorly designed/operated H2 plants are as low as 50% efficient.
As a hope to be professional, having problems or issues achieving your goal happens occasionally, but consider the long term and don’t give up. The thesis is not meant to be easy, but doable with persistence and application. You would not have been admitted if you lacked the basic components to be successful. In most cases it is proper to discuss significant issues with professor or advisor, and ask for time extension or subject/objective adjustment, even if it results in delay for graduation. Getting the right answer is seldom as important as learning the process of solving problems, considering literature and citing pertinent research, collecting and analyzing data, documenting and presenting results of independent work.
