Greetings, with respect to the title mentioned, healthy discussion on the prevailing niche area towards MIMO antenna design (like decoupling etc..), exclusively in the sub 6 GHz regime and beyond is awaited.
In sub-6 GHz MIMO antennas, the main challenge is the coupling between elements, which can be mitigated using DGS, EBG, or parasitic elements. At mmWave and beyond, antennas become smaller, making physical isolation easier, but feed-line coupling and beamforming compatibility gain importance. Toward 6G, active–passive hybrid decoupling and MIMO–RIS integration are emerging as niche research areas.
