Which area in trajectory data mining is more suitable to do research? I read many papers in this area, mostly related to transportation mode classification, but it looks an old problem now and too much research has already been done in this area, so I think it is difficult to find a gap in this field.

I also want to know the process of identifying new research problem. I think reading and reading research papers is not a solution.
