combination of cellular agriculture i.e. cultured (artificial) meat for mass production and the use local (unselected) breeds of animals for production of traditional products (with high added value) could bring solution when animal husbandry is in question.
Thank you Takele Taye Desta for this important question.
We can be self-sufficient while at the same time running the risk of food insecurity. Thus, self-sufficiency does not automatically mean guaranteeing food security. We must therefore work to be self-sufficient and to guarantee food security for current generations without compromising the interrests of future generations. All this can only be done by increasing subsistence agriculture and through sustainable agriculture respecting nature, the environment and biodiversity. Today, there is no longer any doubt that Biodiversity is at the service of food security. This reality is being confirmed and imposed more than ever, particularly with the major threats of climate change. According to the FAO, food security is generally considered to have four dimensions: availability, access, use and stability. Biodiversity contributes to each of them.
For some specialists, ecological precision farming could be a solution for the actual situation and face challenges of climate change because it would allow real agricultural development where farmers have to manage production and ecosystems so produce more and better while respecting the environment.
It is obviously necessary to invest seriously in agriculture thus make big investments in this strategic sector and support farmers full time, ; develop food crops, protect biodiversity but also building a productive and therefore nourishing biodiversity.
These links could help for answering if only in in part your question. Good lack.
vertical gardening. In complete honesty though, many societal systems need a revamp to becoming more sustainable and able to provide for an increasing population.
with a reengineering of our thoughts and lifestyles. Maximizing productivity in cities and respecting natural environments, complying with existing regulations. But given our particular interests, consumerism and idiosyncrasies worldwide, this is very difficult to achieve.
