AI based precision medicine for gastric cancer is a promising field that aims to use AI techniques to analyze molecular, endoscopic, pathological and clinical data of gastric cancer patients and provide personalized diagnosis, treatment and prognosis¹. According to a systematic review by Jin et al. ¹, AI is mainly used for **molecular bio-information analysis**, **endoscopic detection** for Helicobacter pylori infection, chronic atrophic gastritis, early gastric cancer, invasion depth, and pathology recognition. AI may also be used to establish predictive models for evaluating lymph node metastasis, response to drug treatments, and prognosis. In addition, AI can be used for surgical training, skill assessment, and surgery guidance. The authors concluded that AI applications can play an important role in gastric cancer management in the era of precision medicine¹.
However, the effectiveness of AI based precision medicine for gastric cancer may depend on several factors, such as the quality and quantity of data, the validation and generalization of AI models, the ethical and legal issues of data sharing and privacy protection, and the integration of AI with clinical practice¹. Therefore, more studies are needed to evaluate the feasibility, accuracy and utility of AI based precision medicine for gastric cancer in different settings and populations.
