We are considering deploying a flux tower in the Australian Alps. While I have some experience with flux towers, and significant experience in most meteorological and atmospheric gas measurements, I have little experience in snowy environments. The flux tower would be a low-set 3m install on a plateau that receives approx. 2m of snow each year. While I am not concerned about CO2 flux measurements during the depths of winter, I would like to be able to continue to measure momentum, heat and water vapour fluxes and I would like to measure any CO2 flux that occurs during early or late season with low snow depth. Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to manage this install? Much appreciated.
