Reginald B. Little (RBL) discovers that the Earth’s Atmosphere and BioSphere having 12C, 13C, 14N, and 15N can participate in the CNO cycle of the sun by using cosmic rays. The CNO cycle involves these isotopes: 12C, 13C, 13N, 14N, 15N, and 15O. By use of cosmic rays, the earth and its atmosphere, biosphere and hydrosphere can undergo fractional reversible CNO cycle from the bombarding protons from cosmic rays. Cosmic rays are 90% protons (p+). These protons fractionally reversibly transmuted 12C, 13C, 14N and 15N in humans and Neanderthals in different ways 40,000 to 400,000 years ago due to increased flux of cosmic rays into the earth due to weakening of earth’s atmosphere 41,000 years ago (Laschamp Excursion)). Such increased cosmic ray on earth’s atmosphere and biosphere resulting from the Laschamp Excursion resulted in partial CNO cycle on atmosphere and living organisms for mutating genes in living organisms and altering metabolism of living organisms by Little Effect involving protons transmuting 12C, 13C, 14N and 15N in living. Focusing on Humans verses Neanderthals, such proton bombardment by the cosmic rays exposure from Laschamp Excursion affected Humans in different ways than it affected Neanderthals. The author (RBL) argues the proton bombardment from the Laschamp Excursion transmuted 15N enriched in Neanderthals relative to Humans to kill the Neanderthals during this period by fractional CNO cycle in the cosmic rays on the Neanderthal’s body. But the author argues that the proton bombardment from the Laschamp Excursion transmuted 12C to produce 13C in humans altered accelerating evolution for causing cancer in humans and causing human deaths by cancer during this time. The author (RBL) argues that the CNO cycle on Neanderthals was more deadly due to the enrichment of 15N in Neanderthals compared to Humans such that the forward and reverse CNO partial cycle in Neanderthal generated 15O from 15N and the 15O has half life of 122 second for reforming 15N to sicken the Neanderthals protein metabolism very rapidly, acutely and chronically. 12C in Neanderthal and 14N in Neanderthals from cosmic protons rapidly formed 13N and 15O and the 9.97 minute and 122 second half lives lead to rapid formations of 13C and 15N in the Neanderthal tissue. The 13C sickened the Neanderthals and the 15N formations with release of neutrinos and positrons induced the reverse 15N decomposition to 15O transmutations in the positron and neutrino background for transmuting 15N to 15O for altering protein dynamics in Neanderthals at rapid rates on times scales of seconds and minutes for relative rapid alterations of metabolism and physiology for killing the Neanderthals. The author argues that the Humans having less 15N relative to Neanderthals did not experience as many dynamics on human proteins on short times scales of seconds to minutes, so the weakened magnetic field and cosmic activity did not as rapidly kill humans. However, RBL argues that during the Laschamp Excursion, the humans having 12C and 14N and lacking 15N did transmute 12C to 13C and 14N to 15N (with a buildup of 15N and 13C over longer time of years). So, humans were able to reproduce during the Laschamp Excursion and bombardment by cosmic rays, but over years humans built up 13C and developed cancer to shorten their lives. RBL discovers here that the humans survived due to the lesser amounts of 15N relative to the Neanderthals.
RBL here makes the Correction in opening description of his theory as One sentence should replace 'atmosphere' by 'magnetic field' to read: "These protons fractionally reversibly transmuted 12C, 13C, 14N and 15N in humans and Neanderthals in different ways 40,000 to 400,000 years ago due to increased flux of cosmic rays into the earth due to weakening of earth’s magnetic field 41,000 years ago (Laschamp Excursion)."
It is important to note that the 15N enriched nucleic acids of DNA and RNA suffered more transmutation and DNA and RNA damage in Neanderthals relative to humans (having less 15N) during cosmic ray bombardment during Laschamp Excursion. Thereby greater and more DNA and RNA mutations in Neanderthals relative to humans during Laschamp Excursion caused greater death and extinction of Neanderthals (but survival of humans) by my theory as described here. - Reginald B. Neanderthals interbreeding with humans for over 7000 years. This was reported recently in { Neanderthals and humans interbred more recently than scientists thought }. Wow, some Neanderthal genes exist in modern day humans. Africans tend to have less Neanderthal genes than Eurasians { Human evolution: Neanderthal footprints in African genomes - ScienceDirect }. I believe 15N isotope fractionation may be basis for epigenetics for turning on trace behavior and disease or disease prevention of residual Neanderthal genes in modern day humans. I hypothesize that Neanderthals had greater resistance to cancer than modern day humans based on their enriched 15N in their DNA. I base this on my recent discovery of 15N being depleted in DNA of cancer cells. Today, Reginald B. Little (RBL) realized that the high energy protons in cosmic rays are more likely to spallate atoms like 12C and 14N and 16O than to cause fusion processes like in CNO process (which occurs in denser media like interior of stars). But RBL reasons that life in structures having high 13C and 15N can manifest CNO process fractionally and reversibly via tunneling of protons, positrons, neutrinos and antineutrinos during such processes. The tunneling by RBL theory involves fractional, reversible fusing and fissing with the associated nuclei of 12C,13C, 13N, 14N, 15N, 15O, 16O, 17O, and 18O for collisions of electrons, positrons, protons, neutrinos and antineutrinos with these nuclei for enhanced tunnelling as previously discovered by RBL. On the basis of such, RBL here documents that such tunneling CNO processes exist in some forms of life on earth like flies, fungi and bacteria. RBL notes that 15N can prevent cancer in humans as mammals as 13C accumulates by such tunneling CNO process. But as cosmic protons are more prone to spallate 12C, 14N and 16O, Reginald B. Little (RBL) revise his theory that the Laschamp Excursion killed Neanderthals by his discovery here that the cosmic protons spallated the atoms as they entered earth. The atmosphere is mostly 14N2 (78%) and about 20% with 16O2. The O has larger cross-section for energetic proton spallating to deadly element like beryllium (10Be). But the spallation of 14N generates mostly 14C. But it is known that most Neanderthals lived in limestone (CaCO3) caves in Europe and Asian areas. RBL thereby proposes the greater O content of the cavestones of limestones produced greater beryllium than beryllium produced in surrounding atmospheric N2/O2 for killing the Neanderthals. Most homosapiens (non-Neanderthals) lived in strawhuts, dung huts and bamboo structures of lower oxygen content for less exposure to produced beryllium during oxygen spallation by cosmic rays. - Reginald B. Hi Phil Geis, How are you? Thank you for interest in this discussion. Yes I am Reginald B. Little (RBL). This post describes a new theory that I developed in last 2 months in mid June 2025. Since early July or about July 9, 2025, I (RBL) have given some limited data by the correlating of many earthquakes with the moon's gravitational tidal acceleration of earth on July 9, 2025, July 14, 2025, July 22, 2025 and Aug 5, 2025. I give data that the more intense rattling of the ring of fire during last 6 weeks is due to this unusual large declination of moon in northern hemisphere on these dates and the consequent unusual large tidal gravities and acceleration of earth's rotation and different rotations of crust, mantle and inner core and outer core even with slightly faster composite rotations of earth as measured by other scientists. I think and propose that such different rotations of inner core, outer core, mantle and crust of earth caused on or about these days greater imbalance of internal fluids in lithosphere by gravitational tidal forces for triggering cracks in crust and slips in tectonic plates for inducing volcanoes and earthquakes at higher rates around the world during last 6 weeks. I have since Aug 26, 2025 predicted effects of planetary alignment with these I have noticed someone come up with more data concerning the sun and moon's position in the sky and inducing earthquakes.
