Corona pandemic is still roaring in the US when Europe is relatively more relaxed but careful in easing lockdown.
The United States has long prided itself as the world's shining beacon. But its current status is a much darker one: the globe's leader in coronavirus cases.
More than 125,000 people have died from Covid-19 in the US, and more than 2.5 million Americans have been infected.
American life has been irrevocably altered by the worst pandemic in a century. And as the country struggles to reopen, cases of Covid-19 have surged again -- this time in young people and in states that had previously avoided the brunt of the virus.

An easy answer would be the number of tests performed since the number of cases detected is a direction function of the number of tests done.
From a social viewpoint, it is obvious that mankind has been leaving local origins in the quest of global relevance for sometime now. Since US is one of the most common destinations, initially there may have been so many independent sources that came into the country.

one day maybe, not sure, we'll have real data regarding death rates due to COVID-19 in some countries. It's "interesting" to see that all states do not have same politics of counting, testings, preventing...and since that, how to measure impact of the disease around the world??

While I do not think the testing is the answer to the number of cases (our test numbers are actually low based on population percentage) Viswa Chandu I do agree that the large number of americans travelling abroad and visitors from other countries is a significant part of the infection rate.

According to world immunologists, our immune system works better if there is greater exposure to pathogens simply if we come in touch with variety of microorganisms which occurs when we make body connection with other people in the form of hand shake or other form of physical contact, in Asian countries it's common but in countries like US extra hygenic environment and social distance leads towards less exposure to variety of pathogens and as their immune system will not come in contact with variety of pathogens it will not able to fight with them hence immunity will not develop against variety of pathogens and are easy victim of every new type of pathogen on the other hand less hygenic environment of people like us enable us to fight with variety of pathogens hence, we are more resistant

Javeria Zafar -- You are on the right track for your comments, but let me suggest that you not use 'pathogens' in your first sentence. We have a better microbiome and thus immune system if we have a wide variety of organisms that we maintain and come into contact with. Most of these can become pathogens if conditions change, such as the use of antibiotics, and it is really an overgrowth of a particular organism. And yes we in America are crazy in our hygenics, being inappropriate in our actions as well as the overuse of antibiotics.

Pathogen does not need antibiotic always and it's any microorganism that can cause disease. The term is most often used for agents that disrupt the normal physiology of a multicellular animal or plant. It's an essential component in epidemiological triad. Just to make sure I am understanding the comments and to clarify - no pathogens need antibiotics, antibiotics frequently kill many of the commensal/beneficial bacteria present. And without these 'protective' bacteria present, another organism is able to expand its population, or toxin production, and thus become (or increase its virulence as) a pathogen.

Agree with Muhammed Ashraful Alam that antibiotics are not necessary, as antibiotics target bacteria, while all bacteria are not dangerous if we adopt proper lifestyle to restrict them.

No doubt about that dear Frederic Lepretre but China, South Korea, Hong Kong, UK, Germany also tested large numbers but their detection rate is not so high like the US. Initially there was little bit relaxation in the US in preventive measures like using of face mask and avoiding social distancing. Problem in decision-making made it more difficult.
of course, relaxation of preventive measures could only raise in higher rates. Maybe we could also have a look at our way of living and redefine our travels around the world, travelling by plane is easy in developped countries as US, easy also for virus to spread.
