I am interested in research results concerning the relationship between religious adherence and indicators of wellbeing (happiness, satisfaction with life, etc.).
In my Conference "Health and Faith" - which you will find complete here in "RG" - you will find more than one reference to this; For example: Meta-analysis by Feecher and Fordsyde, 2010: FACTORS THAT PREDICATE HAPPINESS ARE: Having high self-esteem; Being optimistic and extroverted; Having good friends and good relationships; Having a strong religious faith; Being satisfied with work and make good use of leisure; Exercise and sleep well

Life itself is a web of so many aspects and emotions and each is connected with every other one. As far as religion and its connection with happiness to life is concerned, our beliefs and our practices matter a lot.
Good and bad, moral and immoral, vices and virtues make differences in choices to go for right and wrong.
If we believe that God will definitely punish the evil and reward the good, we wont go for any wrong act, if we sincerely believe in God.
