There is no method of research statement writing accepted by the majority of researchers. What is the main part of a research statement? What pattern do you use to write a research statement?
Outline your research question at the top. There is no one set formula. However, you need to mention 1. Research question 2. Gap in research (lit review, how your research fits in with current research and how there is a gap in knowledge - ie how you are contributing to original new knowledge) 3. Aim of research 4. Research methodology. 5. Theoretical framework if your work is based on theory or if not the study/evaluation you will undertake. You could set aside one paragraph for each if you are writing it in abstract form. Good luck and hope this helps you :)
