As nouns the difference between security and sovereignty

is that security is (uncountable) the condition of not being threatened, especially physically, psychologically, emotionally, or financially while sovereignty is (of a polity) the state of making laws and controlling resources without the coercion of other nations.

That is somehow hinting as to what 'food sovereignty' is all about ...

Thank you Len. I come to the issue from a Foucauldian perspective on power, whereby security is fundamentally different to sovereignty by being a dispersed mode of governance. The latter seems to me better attuned to the agroecological understanding of food production that food sovereignty would aim to advance. I would be interested in hearing about the use of these different concepts with respect to food production systems.

Thanks once again Lev. I have attached the kind of discussion that has provoked my question, in Italian. To be clear, I am asking how does one distinguish food sovereignty from political sovereignty, if it is in fact at all possible. I doubt that supporters of Via Campesinos would be very happy to see their politics associated with centre-right, if not post-fascista, positions, but am happy to stand corrected.
