A colleague told me: "The exam should contain an easy exercise, a little difficult exercise and a difficult exercise to which I seek an answer" what do you think? According to this professor, students must get used to scientific research.
Yes, I agree with this concept. Because I think an Examination should have test for knowledge, understanding and application. The percentage may vary from level/field of concern examination. I also beleive this will also help teachers in evaluation process, identification of weknesses and strengths of students and remedial teaching.
I think in education, student are more important than subject itself, so learner centered education is more preferred than subject centered.
The model is not bad. The percentages may be 50, 25, and 25 % (Easy, Little difficult, and Difficult exercise). It will cover all students - general, good and very good students in respect of level of understanding.
Examination is mean for student s' trial for which they have to be prepared for passing the examination & their studies involve their career development they have to be prepared more conscious .
With this if the question for the study are easy they may not be any problem but for difficult question & sometimes question remains hard nut to crack in such cases students for their preparation should work in a systematic & scientific way & for such difficult question where studying should concentrate or the basic understanding of the question & after reading he should contentment regarding his reading in his mind & brain which may help him to carry out his answer for the examination in a very comfortable manner .
I agree. the questions in the exam should be varied in their level of difficulty considering students' different ability. what is important is that the test should be valid and reliable. in my exams, I mostly focus on testing students' understanding rather than their ability to memorize.
".......I mostly focus on testing students' understanding rather than their ability to memorize" - This is important point. I agree with this view. Regards
