Fe-Mn-Al-C austenitic lightweight steel will precipitate kappa carbides after aging treatment. It is well known that kappa carbides have L12 crystal structure and are coherent with the matrix. Currently, most literature suggests that kappa carbides are generated through spinodal decomposition, which depends on the uphill diffusion of solute atoms. Is spinodal decomposition affected by dislocation density? Or, should the precipitation behavior of ordered kappa carbides be consistent between samples undergoing large plastic deformation and those without deformation? Does the size and volume fraction of kappa carbides remain unchanged?
