The add files is the precipitation data downloaded from DMI, and the db2dat function code and error ,respectively.

I would rather prepare my file in txt having
Column 1 as year
Column 2 as month
Column 3 as day
column 4 as my precipitation values.
Save as .txt
Note, the columns should have no heading.
then run
rclimdex2climatol('stations.txt',1,'RR',mis=-999.9,chrcod=c(1,5)).
I assume you already know how to prepare the stations.txt.
This is different from the txt files having your stations variable.
Station.txt is the list of your stations with their coordinates.
Thank you , Oluwafemi Adeyeri . The function 'rclimdex2climatol ' is ok for daily precipitation data, if I use it in monthly precipitation data, it's also ok, but it's a little time-consuming. Firstly, I have to generate a time table, including 365/366 days a year, and then I fill the daily precipitation value in every month, every day has the same precipitation as the monthly precipitation value, for example, year 1961 has 365 days , I will generage the calendar, the precipitation in Janary is 55 mm, so every day(1961-1-1, 1961-1-2, ...1961-1-31) will be filled 55 mm. After this ,I will generate daily .txt, and then generate monthly precipitation yy-yy. dat using function 'dd2m'. And I also had a try, the function'rclimdex2climatol ' is not available for generate monthly data .dat directly, it will generate a daily data .dat, the firt day is the origional monthly precipitaon value in every month, the othe day (day2, day3...day31) is NA. Do you have another ideas transforming the montly precipitation value to .dat and .est directly? Or do you know how to use the db2dat function? I still don't know how to prepare data fromat of my input files in order to use the db2dat function.

When you call db2dat, what do you give as date format? ( dformat='%Y-%m-%d')

Your Date-column is formatted as text. What happens if you format months and days as two-digit numbers e.g. '1961-01-01'?
