In the 13C NMR heteronuclear coupling is observed between fluorine because Fluorine-19 is 100% abundant, has a spin of 1/2, and has a gyromagnetic ratio. The carbon of the phenyl ring attached to fluoro group will show a doublet at delta 158-160 with coupling constant (J) of 240-245 Hz. The carbons ortho to the fluoro group will show a doublet at delta 114-116 with coupling constant (J) of 21-23 Hz. The carbons meta to the fluoro group will show a doublet at delta 132-134 with coupling constant (J) of 7-9 Hz. The carbon para to the fluoro group will show a doublet at delta 118-120 with coupling constant (J) of 3 Hz.
