I am employed as a scientist at Chemistry Division, Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehra Dun (INDIA). Our institute (http://fri.icfre.gov.in/) established in 1906 has history synonymous with the development of forestry research and management in South East Asia. The FRI has a large Botanical Garden. However, it does not have a chemical trail. Prompted by the utility of the educational trail at the Cambridge university Botanic Garden, this will be a novel attempt to develop such educational trail at FRI Botanical Garden.
Thank you for sharing the FRI history and Botanic Garden information. I was in India once in 1998 to attend a workshop on Mathematical Chemistry at Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan. Hopefully, during my next visit I will find extra time to explore forests and botanic gardens, which even without a chemical trail are informative and enjoyable.
