Dear Joachim, thank for your expert answer. I guess I am both fascinated and skeptical. Human level AI system : is it equivalent to artificial consciousness? Or just a conglomerate of narrow AI subsystems in the sense of Kurzweil?

OK I am still reluctant to see a qualitative feature like consciousness be quantified like say a computation. Stupid people are no less conscious than clever ones. I know there is a tendency to reduce consciousness to computation. But maybe there is something inherently recursive in consciousness that cannot be reduced to computation.
