I recently came across the Yet Another Computer Vision Index To Datasets (YACVID) (http://riemenschneider.hayko.at/vision/dataset/index.php). I noticed that there are lots of databases with real world images, some of them with manually labelled ground truth. But there seem to be very few databases for computer vision algorithm development and evaluation that use synthetically(artificially) created images using computer graphics technology.
My questions to discuss:
1. Which publically available databases with synthetic images do you know?
2. Where do you see the pros and cons of using synthetic images for computer vision algorithm evaluation compared to using real images and manually labelled ground truth?
