I working on synthesizing a beta-bromostyrene, I am struggling finding an article with the information. My model starting material is cinnamic acid, Instead of COOH I want Br. Please not I have a double bond and Br is more selective on the alkene.
Cinnamic acid is brominated first by Br2 in aque. medium to form
dibromo-cinnamic acid followed eliminaton by reaction with sodium azide in DMF to get Beta-bromo styrene
