Syngenetic versus diagenetic pyrite?

Is framboidal the only morphology of pyrite forming in the water column (syngenetic)? Is it possible for euhedral pyrite to precipitate in the water column? Or is this latter morphology more restricted to sediment pore waters (diagenetic)?
