Can the principles of project management can be applied in the projects related to electrical engineering specially Energy saving projects? if yes do we have any examples to cite .
of course Project management can be synchronized with electrical engineering. Actually project management is the combination of the following task- i.e. initiating, planning, executing, controlling a project. In other case, an electrical engineer who is responsible for energy saving projects needs to initiate few task to achieve goals of the project. These initiatives should be planned properly, proper forecasting & controlling the customer demand and maintaining low system loss, the goals can be achieved. please look after the links given below.
I'm currently managing a continuous improvement project, and a KPI of my project are the monetary savings related to corrective actions. I'm sure that if you're able to identify those savings in your project, supported by a proper timing and action owners, the success will be more than ensured.
Thank you Markel .I have one question that if there will be a need to differentiate the monetary savings in to types also such as hard or soft savings?
you can make a pareto analysis to know which would be best actions, sorted by the economic impact. I would always try to focus on the actions with the biggest savings of course.
Project management is very essential for every field we find ourselves, of which electrical engineering is no exception. since every project needs to be properly managed, getting some knowledge and experience as an Electrical Engineer would go a long way to help you in this profession.
