I have to pick a research topic for my master thesis. I'm studying sustainable finance and was thinking about researching the effect of esg-scores on cost of capital of sin stocks. This would be heavily influenced by the price of sin, but there is not enough data available. Does anyone have an idea for this?
I also proposed the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on alternative investment compared to normal investments, but my supervisor said those results would be insignificant as the market has been all over the place.

I propose a topic in the field of sustainable finance concerning the economic and financial analysis of economic ventures implemented by companies operating within the framework of full business ethics, corporate social responsibility, environmental (ecological) social responsibility, not using creative accounting that applies the principles of sustainable development in the context of business operations and in financial management. In addition, sustainable financial management should take into account the full improvement of the financial risk management process so as not to generate unnecessary additional costs of hedging individual categories of financial risk, including financial liquidity risk, debt risk, currency risk, credit risk, etc. and to limit the scale of generating unnecessary, external social costs.
