This is actually a massive questions and one really needs to know if this is for Bachelors, Masters or doctoral investigation. Also whether the researcher is concerned with purchase intention, related to use of technology as a model? A small snapshot can be gauged from following - just concerned with Tecnology adoption:
Reviews of the literature reveal that the following technology acceptance models that have been widely applied:
1- Theory of Reasoned Action originally introduced by Fishbein and Ajzen (1975) (Shih and Fang, 2004; Wan et al., 2005; Nor et al., 2008; AL-Majali, 2011; Yousafzai et al., 2010).
2- Theory of Planned Behaviour by Ajzen (1991) (Liao et al., 1999; Yaghoubi and bahmani, 2010; Yousafzai et al., 2010).
3- Diffusion of Innovations Theory by Rogers (1983) (Tan and Teo, 2000; Polatoglu and Ekin, 2001; Ndubisi and Sinti, 2006; Kim and Prabhakar, 2004; Anuar et al., 2012).
4- Technology Acceptance Model by Davis (1989) (Pikkarainen et al., 2004; Al-Sukkar and Hasan, 2005; Eriksson et al., 2005; Gounaris and Koritos, 2008; Kesharwani and Bisht, 2012; Fonchamnyo, 2013).
5- Decomposed Theory of Planned behaviour proposed by Taylor and Todd (1995) (Shih and Fang, 2004; Jaruwachirathanakul and Fink, 2005).
6- Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) by Venkatesh et al. (2003) (AbuShanab and Pearson, 2007; AbuShanab et al., 2010; Foon and Fah, 2011; Qeisi and Al-Abdallah, 2013).
Amongst aforementioned models, the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), has been found to be the most cited model. To clarify, the popularity of TAM owing mainly to the following model’s characteristics: first, specific attention on Information Systems (IS) usage, second, its roots in social psychology theory (Theory of Reasoned Action), third, its parsimoniousness, and lastly the empirical evidence of its applicability from previous research (Pikkarainen et al., 2004; Ozdemir and Trott, 2009; Lai et al., 2010).
