Currently, I'm doing my study on the emotional intelligence and job stress among the non-academic staff. Can i know the suitable job stress instruments suitable to use?
You may take into account the development of stress in different situations at work: the mechanisms of stress in a functional surrounding, where results of one division has to be dealed with another has the development of stress is dependant of the availability of common sense. An example is: quality research in a laboratory. Other work situations as product organizations (industry, agriculture, etc., etc.) and matrix organizations (a mingling of product- and product organizations) have each a different rule- and coordination mechanism, which influences the development of stress. The study named “Organizational Determinants of Job Stress” proposed to be a partial test of the short version of the model with 11 items. Particularly, the authors created to determine the nature of the relations among some possible stressors chosen on the basis of the literature and information of the population, the first-level result, and work related stress. They also examined the dimensionality of job stress more closely, in order to identify the extent to which the scopes were differentially affected by different stressors.
I employed this measurement tool in my doctoral dissertation. The scale provided a very good internal consistency.
