I wish to use trail cameras in my teaching. The course is about vertebrates and the images from the trail cameras will be a learning resource among others. The main goal is that the students learn species identification.
I would like to get suggestion for trail camera software for photo management and sharing with students.
Most important features:
- Simple structure with camera trap as main folder and with subfolders for each species.
- Accessible for the students online
- Password protected (only viewing).

Photobucket gives you all the three features you need. You need to create an account on the website. Whole albums may be password - protected and not public. To not allow for downloading the photos youneed to uncheck "Allow others to copy my media" checkbox in your account.

Two of your requirements could be met by establishing a Facebook group to which the students are invited to join, and making and sharing albums of photos only with that group. You can share albums with links for those without their own Facebook account. I cannot see how you might easily nest sub-folders within that arrangement though.
Thanks for answers. I will look into Photobucket to learn about the features. I have considered Facebook, but I'm a bit skeptic using social networking sites such as Facebook for education purposes.
Camera Base by Mathias Tobbler is free and works quite well . Has some minor details.... but Im sure he will be quite happy to receive feedback.
I would second all the previous recommendations for Camera Base, versatile and easy to use software.
