I have developed with E-glass fiber/epoxy composite and tried to make hole with CNC drilling based on the optimum condition. But delamination and poor surface roughness were observed. So, kind some other technique to make without delamination and get smooth surface.
The best way to cut the fiberglass/epoxy composite by by high pressure water jets. The surface finish you get is superior to any other technique. However, the equipment may not be easily available.
Agreed with Dr Rajendra,
in my opinion, you should try water jet cutting process as it offered zero HAZ thus avoiding delamination process.

CFRP might need some abrasive particles addition in the water jet. If GFRP is used, this is normally not needed.
Thanks to Mr. Mikael Jansson for your reply. GFRP composite was affected by abrasive particles, especially the top cutting edge area and inner cutting surface also. Suggest any finishing process for ~4 mm thickness GFRP composite to get smooth surface.
Start with new jet nozzle, try smaller nozzle size, lower translation speed. Jet has to be in good control to get the performance you need. Consider that the water jet diameter increases over time if not nozzle is changed frequently. Fine tolerances and small nozzle will lower the cutting speed. Always a balance.
You might try adiabatic punch press. There are several sources in the U.S. that will run free trials. I have had good results with difficult composites up to 6mm thick.
