As we know that Naelgeria Floweri is a Amoeba and is know as Brain eating Amoeba? any idea about its successful treatment mordality?
Naegleria fowleri is a thermophilic, free-living ameba that causes primary amebic meningoencephalitis.
Intravenous Amphotericin B, Fluconazole ,Rifampicin , miltefosine and Dexamethasone are combination treatmernt.
We have a 16 year old boy in Orlando that was successfully treated with miltefosine (amoeba killed within 72 hours). Other drugs and body temperature lowering were also used. 3/4 patients that survived were on miltefosine.
