I am a bio student working in a lab on his free time and I just started working with an engineering group on sensors. My questions are:
1)Functionalization steps and what are the best substances for antibody immobilization? Focus on low toxicity and easy of use of the reagents. ex: APTES has very high toxicity
2)How can I tell if my substrate has functional groups or not, which substrates have which functional groups?
3) What parameters should I check for when searching for MOSFETs and what are the best ranges for protein detection?
4) How can I find a decent priced evaluation kit for MOSFET?

Antibody deposition can be performed using edc-nhs, pbase, glutaraldegyde, tamra-labelling, electrodeposition and even physisorption in some cases. You need to elaborate a bit more to obtain a specific suggestion regarding the type of deposition you can use and how you should functionalization your substrate
