I've a SPOT image which is in an .img format and it couldn't be opened in ENVI4.5 image processing software. Is there anyone who can direct me on how to make it compatible with the software?
open it with QGIS (open source GIS software) and export it in a suitable format for ENVI. QGIS is based on GDAL library, and can handle a very large number of different data file format.
The file extension * .img, is native to the Erdas Imagine software. Ideally export from ERDAS to ENVI, bil to native or tif. If you use other software to export to *.Tiff it is recommended.
From ENVI, you can go to "Basic Tools," then "Convert Data ()"
The started the menu "Convert File Input File" select "Open", "New File". And look for the file to import.
