I would like to know if singlet-sigma+ states of heternonuclear diatomics have non-zero spin-orbit matrix elements with singlet-sigma- states. The selection rules I found in various references seem to permit such interaction but I've never seen such an example in actual practice. For sure 1Sigma+ can interact with 3Sigma-, as shown by a well-known 1967 study by Kayama and Baird on the oxygen molecule, but what about 1Sigma-?
